ABSTRACT. T土照he simultaneous removal of nitrogen o有家xides (NOx) and sulfur dioxide (SO2) by absorption is considered to be土下 one of the most promisin數村g technologies for fl服匠ue gas treatment, and sulfite i志民s the main component of the相時 absorption solution. To understan不雪d the chemical behav行長iors of the NO2 absorption in sulfi身廠te solution, the absorption time de器下pendences of concentrations of nitr朋短ogen and sulfur compositions 畫多in both gas phase and liquid phases wer拿討e investigated by flue gas analyzer,如關 Ion chromatography (IC), 個這Gas chromatography (GC), and Fourier t議低ransform infrared spectrometry (FTIR)男上 methods using a bubbling reactor.舞個 The mass equilibrium資子 of the N and S compositions were 車刀also studied. The results i業劇ndicate that sulfite concentrat刀業ion plays a vital role i知火n NO2 absorption. The ma匠水in absorption products are NO3− and NO2−, and NO2− can be converted into NO3− in the presence of著師 oxygen. Besides, about 4% to 9% 飛現by-products of S compositions a森年re formed, and 4% to 11% 業黑by-products of N compositions such as村湖 NO, N2, N2O5, N2O, and HNO3 in the gas phas通了e were detected in the emissions體習 from the bubbling reactor. On th喝動e basis of N and S compositions, a pos要技sible pathway of NO2 absorption in sul件為fite solution was proposed.
